Instagram automation glossary
The words of Instagram automation, each defined in a few sentences, with the panel's own labels.
- AI assistant
- The AI assistant answers the DMs and comments no automation caught, using a business description of up to 5,000 characters. What it does and where it stops.
- Auto reply
- An auto reply is a prepared answer that goes out to a DM, story reply or comment on its own. Meta's fixed texts, keyword replies and AI replies compared.
- Comment-to-DM
- Comment-to-DM sends two things to someone who comments a keyword under your post: a short public reply and a DM with the link or content they asked for.
- DM funnel
- A DM funnel is the path from a comment or story reply through price, order and payment to a sale, built in Instagram DMs with a few keyword automations.
- Form Builder
- The Form Builder runs a form inside Instagram DMs: a word starts it, the questions arrive one at a time, every answer is saved as a lead and exports to Excel.
- Hourly send limit
- An hourly send limit caps how many automated DMs and comment replies leave your account per hour; anything over the cap waits and goes out the next hour.
- Lead
- A lead is someone who showed interest but has not bought: asked the price, wanted a quote. How leads are collected in DMs with a form and automatic capture.
- Reply delay
- A reply delay sends a Direct Automation's reply a set time after the message arrives, from seconds to a day. Why 10 to 30 seconds reads as human.
- Story reply
- A story reply is the message a viewer types under your story. It lands in your inbox as a DM, so a Direct Automation answers it; a mention triggers nothing.
- Trigger
- A trigger is the rule that tells an automation when to reply: the message contains this word, or is exactly this phrase. The three kinds and how to choose one.
- Welcome message

- Workspace
