Definition
The Form Builder is BixoChat's tool for forms that run inside DMs. The customer types a trigger word ("quote", "appointment"), the questions arrive in the DM one after another, and every answer is saved. A Direct Automation gives one reply to one message; the Form Builder runs a conversation.
What it can and cannot do
- A form starts on up to 5 triggers and asks up to 30 questions; three to five are enough for most jobs.
- Keep questions short (Instagram rejects long ones); each question can carry quick replies.
- When the form is completed, the Closing message goes out; when someone cancels (the cancel button or the cancel word), the cancel message. There is no separate welcome field, so the welcome goes into the first question.
- Every completed form is a row in Lead Management; phone numbers and emails from a form are always saved.
- Excel export takes a date range and runs in the background; the file is downloaded there or on the Jobs page.
- A form does not write to your calendar, take payment or push to a CRM; it collects the details, and your team takes it from there.
Example
For a cabinet maker: trigger "quote"; questions for the full name, phone, city and the kitchen's rough measurements. Setup: Collecting leads in Instagram DMs.
